WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26TH | 5th grade kickball tournament
Kickball is one of our favorite sports because everyone is welcome, no skills are required, and it's always fun! The Skokie/Washburne PTO is excited to sponsor this awesome afternoon in partnership with the Winnetka Park District and Hot Shot Sports. Teams will be assigned by Skokie Advisories so every player will have teammates from their advisory - it is a great way to get to know new classmates and join in on friendship & fun! Parent Volunteers Needed!
We need your support (40 parents) to run this event. Please consider volunteering your time to help us make this a successful afternoon of fun.
$15 registration fee includes: participation fee, pizza, chips, Kona Ice and water.
*NOTE: Registration will open in August. Must be registered to attend!

LAST (3) september fridays | 6th grade social dance
The PTO has a long-standing tradition of offering a set of “old school” dance and social etiquette lessons to 6th graders, utilizing a trusted professional dance instructor in the Washburne gymnasium.
This is a low-key introduction to co-ed social functions for 6th graders, and they will have a variety of randomly assigned dance partners. Historically, kids enjoy this opportunity to:
- See themselves and their friends dressed up
- Learn types of ballroom dances that may come in handy someday (e.g. the waltz)
- Do something different and fun on a Friday evening!
Dates/Times:
- 2026: September 11th, September 18th, September 25th
- Location: Washburne Gym
- Time: 6:00-7:00 pm, 9/25 class ends at 7:15 pm
Parents are invited to join on Friday, September 25th!
Fee is $50 (We are not able to issue refunds or prorate fee due to missed classes.)

Washburne students will celebrate being Back-to-School with games, dancing, and fun!
Included: DJ, game, pizza & treats!

skokie & WASHBURNE SOCIAL mixers
Skokie & Washburne will have Social Mixers throughout the year to hang with their friends in a relaxed setting directly after school, 3:30-4:30 pm on set Fridays. Games, snacks, DJ and fun will be had by all! Registered guests: $15 per ticket, pay at the door: $15 cash-only.

skokie & washburne sport tournaments
Skokie & Washburne PTO will be working with our KW departments to bring the kids the following tournaments this year: basketball, volleyball, & ping pong! Tournaments will either be coinciding with KW units or take place in May - stay tuned for more info!
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2nd | 8th grade graduation events
The 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 2nd at 7:00 pm at New Trier Gaffney Auditorium. The 8th Grade Graduation Party details will be announced at a later time. Please look forward to more information from the 8th Grade Graduation Committee and Principals for all events involving 8th Grade Graduation.

FRIDAY, JUNE 4th | 6th Grade Send-Off
Skokie 6th Graders will enjoy a proper Send-Off Party to celebrate their time at Skokie and gain excitement for heading to Washburne! A fun-theme will be chosen and after school snacks, dancing, games & fun will be had by all!
